Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare / CTA Direct ran out comfortable
winners of the Manchester League Junior Grand Prix Round at Gin Pit on
Wednesday. Rob Longworth and Marvin Kinlock both raced unbeaten in the U-13
category, with excellent support from John Nuttall and Chris Heslop. Tameside's
Chris Eaton was unbeaten in the U-16 category, as was Bury's Scott Jarman in the
U-19 category. British Cycling brought along some of their Talent Team, mostly
from Eastlands Velo, for their first match at cycle speedway, with Matthew
Crampton impressing. In fact the Eastlands Velo club members managed to outscore
both the Tameside and Bury teams.
