Astley & Tyldesley made the short trip to Bury for a Midlands/North League North Division 1 match on Sunday. Bury were at full strength, bolstered with the inclusion of two secondary registration riders from Tameside, whilst A & T had four of their top six riders missing for various reasons. A & T's makeshift line-up was no match for Bury, with the home team winning by a large margin, 112-67. Damian Zareba rode superbly, dropping just one point to Ben Scranage in the first race, but gaining his revenge in heat 4. Remi Burchardt was below his best, but still won two races, however these were the only A & T riders to take points off the home team. Bury riders all scored freely, with Scott Jarman unbeaten at reserve, Scranage and Neil Howarth both losing only to Zareba.

A & T's 2nd team were no match for a more experienced Bury 2nd team in the Combination Division match. Bury provided all 12 race winners, with Scott Jarman, Steve Mann, Ashley Simpson, Chris Parish and Tom Doyle all racing unbeaten. Bright point for A & T was a gutsy performance by young Ryan King, who twice beat opponents much older than himself. John Nuttall injured an arm in his first race after being brought down by an opponent and took no further part in the match.
