Leicester controlled the match from start to finish, taking maximum points in fifteen of the eighteen heats. Only Mark Taylor, Mark Keirl and Mike Hack (twice) took points off the home team, as Daniel Pike twice fell, before Hack kept Nicky Whitehead pegged back in 3rd place in the last heat. A & T gave plenty of effort, but what was virtually their second team inevitably struggled against a strong side, eventually going down 122-58.
