A & T made the short trip to Bury on Sunday, for the last round of the Northern Fours & Junior League series. A & T needed to beat Sheffield in their match, and hope that Stoke slipped up in theirs, to win the Fours League title, after starting the day just half a point behind the two teams. However, Sheffield fielded their strongest possible team, whilst A & T had several riders missing for various reasons. Sheffield took control from the start, and although A & T saw off Bury and Heckmondwike to take 2nd place on the day, it wasn't enough. Stoke were emphatic winners of the other match, and they are winners of the Northern Fours League title, beating Sheffield on race points difference, with A & T finishing third overall. A & T's fourth place in the Northern Junior League match means that they finish fourth overall. Stockport are the league winners. A & T's Mike Hack finished third in the Northern Combination Grand Prix series. Laura Allen rode to two good wins in the U-13 match. meet the winners of the other semi-final, between Stockport and Sheffield,
in the final at Heckmondwike on Sunday October 22nd. |
