Astley & Tyldesley put in a scorching display in the heat to win 113-65 in Sunday's Midlands / North League Division 1 match at Hull. Polish star Tomasz Wlodarczyk jetted in to England in the morning and raced unbeaten by an opponent on his return to the A & T team. Skipper Chris Finnigan lost just once to Hull captain Andy Angell in heat 4, with excellent support from the rest of the team. The Hull track was tricky and slippery, but it was the home riders who suffered many falls and lost their concentration, whilst A & T put in a great display to master the difficult conditions. Midlands / North League Division 1 (Northern section) and Northern Alliance League match result: Hull / Kingston Cycles 65 Astley & Tyldesley MWC 113 Hull: Darren Spencer 15, Andy Angell 12, Matt Beharrel 10, Andy Moody 9 (2), Chris Woodward 8, Paul Beharrel 6, Lewis Aylmer 5. A & T: Chris Finnigan 19, Tomasz Wlodarczyk 18 (2), Damien Hack 16 (2), Darek Kurkowski 16 (1), Danny Hughes 15 (3), George Hughes 11 (3), Mark Taylor 10 (1), Mike Hack 8 (1). Referee - Dave Musgrave. A & T also ran out winners in the Combination match, beating Hull 57-46. Both sides were a rider short, with most having to double up in the hot conditions, due to non appearances. George Hughes lost only to Paul Beharrel in heat 1.
