Astley & Tyldesley hosted the 4th Round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series at Gin Pit. Torrential rain before the match would have rendered most tracks unrideable, but A & T have surely the best drainage in the country, and the track soon cleared and provided a great night's racing.

Joel Partington raced unbeaten in the U-10 match, with great support from Stefan Whitelegg, Adam Watson and Philip Atherton. Adam Phillips chose to race in the older U-13s category, and he put in a determined performance to score a creditable 11 points. Tomasz Wlodarczyk and Darek Kurkowski lost only to each other in the Senior match, with valuable support from Mike Hack and Andy Knowles. All A & T riders made vital contributions, with A & T running out narrow winners in both the Division 1 and Division 2 matches.
