There
was double joy for two of Astley & Tyldesley's young riders in the
Northern Individual Championships at Hull today. Adam Phillips retained
his Northern U-10 Individual title, winning every race he contested.
Team mate Adam Watson took runners-up position in the same event, losing
only to Adam Phillips. This was a great performance by the two
youngsters who are competing in the National Rounds of the British
Junior Grand Prix series and who will be lining up in the British U-10
Individual Championships at Poole later this month.
Adam Phillips turned in a great performance in the U-13 championship,
before succumbing to three falls in a twice re-run last race, which cost
him a top three place, finishing on 14 points. Stockport's Jack Lush won
the title.
Laura Watson scored 4 points in the U-16 event, which was won by Hull's
Matt Beharrell.
Mike
Hack scored 11 points in the Veterans category, as Heckmondwike's Darren
Kent retained his title.
