A & T ran out easy winners in the Senior (Division 1) match, in their first defence of the trophy won last season. Remi Burchardt and Tomasz Wlodarczyk both raced unbeaten, with new signing Dariusz Pilas scoring well on his debut.

A & T put in some great performances in the Junior (Division 2) match, finishing 2nd behind Bury in a close tussle. Adam Watson and Stefan Whitelegg both raced unbeaten in the U-10 category, with all the other riders scoring well. This was a big improvement on last season.

The key for A & T to get match wins in this competition is to field some riders in the U-19 category, as Bury's Matt Bailey was the only U-19 rider present. Although he didn't beat a single U-16 rider (the U-16 and U-19 categories were combined), he automatically scored 16 points by virtue of being the only U-19 rider present. His adjusted points total made the difference between Bury winning and not winning. All within the rules - it's up to us to get some U-19 riders competing and then we can record some team wins in the remaining five rounds of this competition.
