Sat 6th June British Youth & Junior League Regional Round 4 Stockport


Astley & Tyldesley's junior squad took to a very wet Stockport track for the 4th and final Northern Regional Round of the British Youth & Junior League series on Saturday. A win to A & T would have seen them qualify for the National series, but it was rivals Sheffield who took the win on the day, to qualify for the National series. A & T took 3rd place on the day, behind Stockport, to finish 2nd overall in the Northern series.

Final match score was:

Sheffield 164 Stockport 116 Astley & Tyldesley 100 Bury 49 Hull 40.

A & T scorers: Adam Turnbull 16, Adam Phillips 16, Adam Watson 14, Max Evans 13, Luke Jamson 11, Tyler Koch 10, Laura Watson 8, Ben Dickenson 8, Matthew Turnbull 4.

A & T had three riders who made it a clean sweep of Individual Grand Prix Final wins in the Northern series, with Adam Turnbull winning the U-8 Final, Adam Watson the U-10 Final and Adam Phillips the U-12 Final. Those three riders have definitely qualified for the National Grand Prix Rounds and they are likely to be joined by some more A & T riders, once the overall scores nationally have been finalised (the South West Round yesterday was postponed due to heavy rain and will have to be re-arranged).
