Astley & Tyldesley hosted the Northern Cup meeting at a wet and windy Gin Pit on Sunday afternoon. Drawn in the 2nd Senior Semi-Final, A & T put up a spirited fight and were in contention most of the match for a place in the final, joint 2nd at the halfway stage, before tailing away in the closing heats. Skipper Remi Burchardt was in great form, beaten only by Hull's Andy Angell in heat 1.

Stoke were winners of the Senior Final, ahead of Hull, Heckmondwike and Bury.

A & T were well beaten in the Junior Cup, as Sheffield retained their trophy. Ben Dickenson was best for A & T with 9 points.
