Sat 26th Sept British Youth & Junior League National Round 4 Sheffield

A & T were well represented, with ten riders, in the fourth and final National Round of the British Youth & Junior League Grand Prix series at Sheffield.

Adam Phillips started the day as leader in the U-12 Grand Prix series, 6 points ahead of his nearest rival, Matt Haddock, of Wednesfield. Both riders qualified for the 'A' Final, with Haddock drawing the favourable grid 1 and Phillips the unfavourable grid 4. Haddock got away for the race win, but Phillips gated round from the outside to secure second place in the race and that was enough to give him overall victory in the eight round Grand Prix series, by a solitary point! This is a terrific achievement by Adam, following on from his U-10 series win last year and he is, of course, eligible to defend his U-12 title next year.

Adam Turnbull started the day in third place in the U-8 Grand Prix series. His win in the 'B' Final was enough to secure third place overall in the series and it was a great sight to see two A & T riders taking rostrum positions in a highly competitive national series.

Seven other A & T riders have represented the club with distinction at all the national rounds, demonstrating the major steps forward taken by the club in junior racing this year. So its a big well done to Tyler Koch, Max Evans, Adam Watson, Laura Watson, Matthew Turnbull, Luke Jamson and Ben Dickenson for wearing the shirt and to club officials Brian Dickenson and Louise Watson for their efforts in organising the junior squad this year.
