Indoor Championships match report

A & T had four riders competing in the British Indoor Championships at Fit City Broughton, Salford on Saturday. Laura Watson was eliminated in the U-16 Individual event, after scoring 5 points in her semi-final. Ben Dickenson had to settle for first reserve spot in the final of the U-19 category, after going through the pre-qualifying match. There was a straight final in the U-13 event. Joel Partington scored 8 points, whilst Adam Phillips turned in the best performance of the day by an A & T rider in scoring 16 points and finishing 2nd in a 3 rider run-off, to finish in third place overall.

The same four riders represented A & T in the Junior Team event. Racing in semi-final 1, Stockport qualified comfortably for the final, but there was a three way battle throughout the match for the remaining final place. Hethersett pulled away in the last three races to secure 2nd spot, with A & T tieing with Ipswich for third place. Ben Dickenson was in great form, losing only to Stockport's Dylan Radcliffe in heat 8. Birmingham won the final, ahead of Sandwell, Stockport and Hethersett.
