Astley & Tyldesley took on local rivals Bury in a Junior Challenge match
at Gin Pit on Sunday. The match was closely fought for the first eight
races, as A & T edged into a 43-37 lead at the interval. The second half
was a different proposition, with A & T winning five of the seven races
to run out convincing winners, 87-63. Joel Partington, Adam Phillips and
Luke Jamson all raced unbeaten for A & T, with excellent back up from
Reece Pollitt and the rest of the team. Ryan Livesey, Laura Watson and
Adam Watson each won a race for the visitors. It was pleasing to see
some good team riding produced by Team Green, in a very sporting
contest.
