Astley & Tyldesley hosted the 1st round of the Astley & Tyldesley
Go-Ride Grand Prix series at Gin Pit on Sunday. Rider numbers were down
due to school holidays. Riders were handicapped according to age and
experience in the qualifying heats, which resulted in all riders really
having to work hard for their points. Young Thomas Whitwam turned in a
great performance, to win all his four qualifying races, to reach the A
Final. The riders all started from the gate in the finals. Joel
Partington, making his first appearance of the season, won the B Final
from Max Evans and Matthew Turnbull. Adam Phillips raced away to win the
A Final,
in the fastest time of the day, finishing ahead of Stefan Whitelegg,
Adam Turnbull and Thomas Whitwam.

12, Stefan Whitelegg 11, Joel Partington 9, Max Evans 8, Matthew
Turnbull 7.
