Astley & Tyldesley staged a double header meeting at a bright, but very
windy Gin Pit venue on Sunday afternoon.
The second match was a Northern Combination League match between A & T
and Bury. The home side suffered a blow when Adam Phillips was excluded
at the gate in heat 1 and Bury took the lead with a 7-2 heat win. The
visitors extended their lead to 11 points after heat 5, with most races
resulting in shared heats after that. Bury held on to win 79-70 and make
it five wins out of five in the league this season. Dawid Renc raced
unbeaten for Bury, with Ryan Livesey winning three races and solid
support throughout the team. For A & T, Adam Phillips was unbeaten after
his exclusion, with good support from Reece Pollitt and Joel Partington.
Adam Phillips recorded the fastest time of the match, 43.99 seconds,
when winning the last race, heat 15.
