Astley & Tyldesley took on Stockport in a Northern Combination League
match at Gin Pit on Sunday. The visitors included an ineligible rider,
Mat Lush, in their team, so conceded 20 penalty points, as per the
league rules. A good solid team performance saw A & T take the win,
89-80, despite the visitors providing the majority of race winners. All
six A & T riders in the main body of the team scored well, as the team
recorded their fourth win this season in this league. Captain Reece
Pollitt top scored for A & T with solid scores from Ron Makin, Max
Evans, Roy Heslop, Beccy Heslop and Stefan Whitelegg. Stockport had
three riders who raced unbeaten - Mat Lush, Joe Pickford, Jake Read -
but the team were unable to pull back the penalty points conceded.
