Astley & Tyldesley
entertained Sheffield Rockets in a Northern Combination League match at
Gin Pit on Sunday. Missing several first choice riders, A & T were well
beaten 87-63 and managed only one heat win all match. Newcomers Steve
Waterworth and Marc Osmand showed plenty of energy and effort, with Roy
Heslop and Ron Makin in the mix. However, A & T's youngsters found it
hard going against the older Sheffield riders. Sheffield had their top
three riders, Matt Parrott, Kyle Holland and Rich Hudson, all racing
unbeaten, with Niall Morton scoring three race wins and Rob Mawhood
unbeaten is his two outings.
