Astley & Tyldesley had two riders competing in the Northern Individual
Championships at Sheffield on Sunday.
Matthew Snell turned in a great performance in the u-10s Final, to
record four wins and a second place in his five races, to score 19
points and take the title! Matthew has kept the title of Northern u-10
Individual Champion in the A&T club, as Max Evans was last year's
winner. 2nd place went to Sheffield's Sam Turney with Tom Whitwam of
Bury finishing 3rd.
Reece Pollitt was A&T's other finalist and he put in a great shift in
the u-16s Final, to record three wins and a second place in his four
races, to score 15 points. This was sufficient to give him 2nd place,
behind the winner, Sheffield's Richard Hudson, who raced unbeaten. Kyle
Holland of Sheffield was 3rd, after scoring 14.
This was two great performances by two local riders, both proudly
wearing the Astley & Tyldesley club colours at the Northern
Championships. Well done from all at A&T!
