Astley & Tyldesley's junior squad were in action at
Stockport on Saturday for the 4th and final North Regional Round of the
British Youth & Junior League series. A&T started the day 2nd in the
league table and needed to maintain that position, with the top two
teams qualifying for the National series later this summer, to meet six
teams from the other three regions.
A strong performance throughout by A&T riders saw the team take 2nd
place on the day, to finish in 2nd place in the league table and secure
a place in the national series, for the second year running. John White
set the ball rolling in the u-8 category, finishing 3rd in the Grand
Prix 'A' Final. Next up were the u-10s, with Matthew Snell taking 2nd
place in the 'A' Final, Ben Dickinson 4th in the 'B' Final and Ashton
Semtyshin 1st in the 'C' Final. In the u-12 category, Max Evans took 3rd
place in the 'A' Final, with Alex Semtyshin finishing 2nd in the 'C'
Final. Ciaran Collins took 2nd place in the u-14s 'B' Final, with Liam
Briggs 4th in the 'B' Final. Last up were the u-16s and Reece Pollitt
rounded off a great day for A&T by winning the Grand Prix 'A' Final.
It was another great performance by a set of local riders, all proudly
representing their local club, Astley & Tyldesley.
