Astley & Tyldesley rounded off their 2013 season by staging the 4th and
final round of the Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Grand Prix series at Gin
Pit on Sunday. The 12 riders were handicapped according to age, ability
and experience and a good match took place on a firm and grippy track.
Reece Pollitt was off the biggest handicap and he pulled off some great
rides, but was unable to pull back newcomers Leanne Hall in heat 11 and
C.J. Darby in heat 15. BMX rider C.J. went on to win all his five races,
to take the win on the day with a 20 points maximum score. Young Joe
Quarmby put in his best match to date to score 17 points, to put him in
a run-off for 3rd place with series leader Ben Dickinson. Ben drew
inside gate in the run-off and took the win to finish 3rd on the day and
take the overall series win. Leanne Hall recovered well after a last
place first time out, whilst Ashton Semtyshin enjoyed his best match,
starting from a favourable handicap. Jessica Burgess rode steadily
throughout, whilst Alex Semtyshin also recovered well following a last
place first time out.
