Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 4 of the Manchester League Grand Prix
series on Wednesday evening. Despite being well watered beforehand, the
track quickly dried out, as the recent hot weather continued.
The Division 2 (juniors) match was closely contested, as Bury took the
win from Astley & Tyldesley, with Stockport third. Emily Burgess showed
good form and Daisy Osmand bravely continued in the u-10s match, after
taking a heavy fall when an opponent cut across her from the start.
Ciaran Collins was in fine form in his first match back after breaking
his foot a few weeks ago. Liam Briggs showed his improvement with some
fast riding and good points scoring. Reece Pollitt was in terrific form
in the u-16 match, dropping his only point after slipping when well
clear.

Stockport rode to a convincing win in the Division 1 (seniors) match.
Ben Higham raced unbeaten and recorded the fastest time of the night,
43.82 seconds, when winning the last race. Jake Read lost only to Higham.
Roy Heslop recorded two hard earned second places on the night.
