Astley & Tyldesley staged Round 2 of the A&T Go-Ride Grand Prix series
at Gin Pit on Thursday evening. Due to the usual wide range of ages and
abilities, a handicapping system was used to give every rider a chance
of getting in the points on the night.
Ben Dickinson lost first time out to Max Evans, but then reeled off
three successive wins to finish on 15 points. Max lost second time out
to Jessica Burgess, before winning his last two to also finish on 15
points. Reece Pollitt was starting each time off the biggest handicap,
but he showed impressive speed in making up ground to win his first two
races, before narrowly losing to Max Evans and then to Ben Dickinson, to
finish on 14. Jessica Burgess won her opening three races, before
finishing third behind Ben and Reece last time out, to also finish on 14
points.
This meant that two run-offs were needed to decide the placings. In the
third place run-off, Jessica Burgess rode a steady race to hold off the
challenge of Reece Pollitt. In the 1st place run-off, Ben Dickinson took
his second Grand Prix win of this series, by keeping ahead of an ever
pressing Max Evans.
Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Grand Prix Round 2 results
Ben Dickinson 15, Max Evans 15, Jessica Burgess 14, Reece Pollitt 14,
Emily Burgess 11, Ciaran Collins 11, Lewis Burgess 10, Charlie Burgess
10, Charlie Dickinson 8.
