Tue 5th August Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Grand Prix Round 4 Astley & Tyldesley

Astley & Tyldesley hosted the 4th and final round of this year's Astley & Tyldesley Go-Ride Grand Prix series. Despite missing plenty of riders away on holiday, there was still a good turn-out of 14 riders on the night.

Laura Snell rode terrifically well to win all her four races, to win the event with a 16 points maximum score. Emily Redmond and Charlie Dickinson both tied on 13 points, with Emily winning the run-off to take 2nd place on the night.

A&T Go-Ride Grand Prix Round 4 results:

Laura Snell 16, Emily Redmond 13, Charlie Dickinson 13, Ben Dickinson 12, Louie Jervis 12, Ben Hindley 12, Dylan Ingham 11, Kieran Fallon 10, Ryan Fallon 10, Jack Murray 9, Melissa Boylin 9, Denby Ashurst 8, Grace Worthington 8, Finlay Hodson 8.

Despite missing the final round, Max Quarmby had amassed enough points to take the overall series win, after scoring 47 points. Securing runner-up spot was Charlie Dickinson, who finished with a score of 46. Charlie's cousin and last year's winner, Ben Dickinson, finished with a total of 44 points to take third place overall.

The decision to switch the events from Sundays to Tuesdays this year was justified, with consistently higher turn-outs. A total of 35 riders contested this year's series, with an average turn-out of 19 riders per round. Congratulations to the winners, all participants, parents and officials for putting on a great series. Entry level cycle sport at its best!
