Bury hosted Round 2 of the Manchester League Grand Prix series at Goshen on Wednesday. There was an increased turnout of 47 riders, which resulted in 64 races being completed, in 2 hours 50 minutes, under the temporary floodlights. A&T's Joe Quarmby raced unbeaten in the u-10s match, narrowly beating team mate John White when they met in heat 17. Bury newcomer Harry Radford lost only to Quarmby in heat 5. The u-13s match resulted in A&T's Max Evans racing unbeaten for the second successive round. Stockport's Louis Wright lost only to Evans in heat 8, while Evans pulled off a fine last lap pass to beat Stockport's Michael Preston in heat 12. The u-16s and u-19s raced a combined match, with scores subsequently adjusted. Sheffield's Adam Watson and Bury's Danny Taylor both raced unbeaten in the u-16 category. Stockport's Jake Read was unbeaten in the u-19s match. Defending Manchester League Division 2 champions Astley & Tyldesley won for the second time in the team competition, with Bury second.
