Sun 1st July Northern Senior And Junior Knock Out Cup Hull

A&T travelled to Hull on Sunday to contest the Northern K.O. Cup competitions.

A&T won the 1st Semi-Final, finishing 4 points ahead of the home club, with Bury well adrift. Steve Harris raced unbeaten, with Pawel Idziorek dropping one point. Hull qualified for the Final, as higher scoring runners-up, with Sheffield qualifying from winning the 2nd Semi-Final.

Northern K.O. Cup Semi-Final 1 result:

Astley & Tyldesley 48 Hull 44 Bury 24.

A&T: Steve Harris 14 (2), Pawel Idziorek 13 (2), Reece Pollitt 12 (1), Kyle Holland 9.
Hull: Nathan Everett 14, Adam Stephenson 10 (4), Andy Angell 10 (2), Josh Bellis 10.
Bury: James Elston 7, Neil Howarth 7, Louis Turner 5, Kaysar Mohammadi 5.

Referee - Graham Lush.

The Final was keenly contested and after 12 heats, A&T finished level with Hull on 43 points apiece, so a run-off was needed to determine the winner. Hull's Andy Angell won the toss for starting positions and took the favoured inside grid. A&T's Reece Pollitt chased hard all the way, but Angell took the win for Hull to claim the Northern K.O. Cup.
