Astley & Tyldesley raced to three convincing wins over
Bury in Sunday's Northern League fixture at Gin Pit. It was another
baking hot sunny day, ridden in mainly dusty conditions, despite heavy
track watering before each match.
In the Division 1 match, A&T quickly took control, with five maximum
heat wins in the first ten heats, with the other five races shared. Two
more followed in the nominated heats, with Bury's only 7-3 coming in
heat 15, when A&T fielded their number 9 and 10 riders. Steve Harris
raced to a fine maximum for A&T and recorded the fastest time of the
day, 41.41 seconds, in heat 13. A&T scored solidly throughout to
maintain their 100% record this season, winning 103-74. Kaysar Mohammadi
was impressive for Bury, winning three of his five races.
