Sun 30th Sept Fife v Astley & Tyldesley Fife

Astley & Tyldesley raced in double header meetings in Scotland on Sunday.

First up saw A&T visit Fife in the morning. Disappointingly, A&T had riders missing for this Division 2 title decider and, for the first time in more than three years, were forced to concede penalty points for using an ineligible rider to make up the team. With 25 points conceded, the title won by A&T last year was effectively lost before a wheel was turned.

Despite this, the riders present put in a spirited showing, with plenty of hard fought races on the track. Mark Grantham, Emily Burgess, Mick Knowles and Kyle Holland all won races for A&T, but no one could stop Fife veteran Craig Hardie from scoring maximum points. Congratulations go to a solid scoring Fife team on winning the North & Scotland League Division 2 title.

North & Scotland League Division 2 match result:

Fife 105 Astley & Tyldesley 69

Fife: Craig Hardie 20, Jake Ferguson 14 (1), Lewis Alsop 13 (2), John Hutton 13, James Penney 10, Vas Hill 7, Mark Langdale 2.
A&T: Emily Burgess 15 (1), Kyle Holland 15 (1), Mark Grantham 13, Mick Knowles 10 (2), John White 10, Lucy Grantham 6.

In the Division 3 match, A&T had already secured this league title for the sixth successive year. Each team had 3 riders each. Fife with the unbeaten Kayden Davidson, Rory Payne and making his debut Sean Collier. A&T had the fantastic John White, Lucy Grantham and the ever smiling Myles Grantham.

The racing was close, with White the only rider this year to get the better of Davidson. Collier got 2 wins on his debut, to help Fife inflict A&T's first defeat in Division 3 for more than two years, winning by two points, 36-34.
