Sun 14th July Women's League National Round 3 Newport

A&T's Emily Burgess rode to a superb six ride maximum score, as she led the combined North & East team to victory in today's Women's League Round 3 match at Newport. Emily teamed up with partner Chloe Pearce, to take five 7-3 and one 6-4 heat wins, in their six races together. This gave the North & East team an 11 points win over the South & South Wales, with the Midlands team a further 15 points behind.

There was disappointment for Emily in the Women's Elite Grand Prix Individual that followed. Despite a fall first time out, she finished on 12 points and qualified for the 'A' Final. However, she was adjudged to have moved at the start, when off grid 1 in the final. Poole's Macie Schmidt took the win, ahead of Exeter's Rosie Tidball and Sheffield's Laura Watson.

Our three Senior riders had a day off, as the North & Scotland team claimed a walk over victory, following the withdrawal of the Midlands team on Friday evening, from today's Battle of Britain match at Hull. The junior match resulted in a 93-82 win for the North & Scotland team, taking 7-2 heat wins in both of the last two races.
