The Senior Cup Final followed and this proved to be a close, exciting encounter throughout. The holders, Sheffield, got off to a good start, scoring 12 points from thr first round of races, to take the lead, one ahead of Hull. At the half way stage, Sheffield were on 25 points, two ahead of nearest challengers, Bury. Both Sheffield and Bury had two race winners and a last place in their next round of races, as fortunes ebbed and flowed for all teams. After three rounds, Sheffield led Bury by a single point, 36-35, with Astley & Tyldesley in third place on 28. In the last round of races, Sheffield took three solid second places. Bury's Reece Pollitt completed his maximum score, but last places to Danny Taylor and Kris Ramsden ensured that Sheffield held a four points lead going into the last race. Bury's Mike Baldock took second place in heat 20, behind Hull's Lewis Foxley, with Pawel Idziorek's third place for Sheffield sealing a three points win for Sheffield. A&T held off the challenge of Hull to finish in 3rd place, with Fife taking the 5th place on the day.

Bury's Reece Pollitt completed a remarkable maximum score, with four wins from four grid 4's, but none of his team mates could match the points of the four solid scoring Sheffield riders. A&T's John White impressed, losing only to Mike Baldock in heat 13. Hull's Lewis Foxley posted three wins and an exclusion when crashing in heat 14 and bringing down A&T's Steve Harris. Lewis recorded the fastest time of the day, 43.00 seconds, when winning heat 20.

The threatened thunderstorms and heavy rain showers fortunately held off during the course of the meeting.
