Astley & Tyldesley began the 2023 season at Hull on Sunday. In the Fours League, defending champions A&T took fourth place on the day. Steve Harris led the A&T scoring on 12 points, followed by Charlie Burgess on 10, John White 8, Duncan Whalley 6 and Owen Simcock 1. Bury took the win on the day, scoring 59 points, whilst Stockport withdrew, due to rider availability. Northern Fours League Round 1 result: Bury 59 Hull 52 Sheffield 42 Astley & Tyldesley 37 Heckmondwike 31 Stockport 0. Hull won the Junior League match, scoring 140 points, with Astley and Tyldesley finishing second on 80. John White raced unbeaten in the u-19 category, with Duncan Whalley joint first with Bury's Tom Dunphy in the u-16 section, both riders scored 11 points. Frank White won the decisive final race in the u-13 Ladder Individual to take the win on the day.
