On Sunday, Astley & Tyldesley took on Sheffield in a full programme of North & Scotland League fixtures at Gin Pit. Sheffield had already clinched the Division 1 title, and they extended their unbeaten run, by beating A&T 100-80. Both sides had riders missing. Best for A&T was Northern Individual Champion, John White, whose 20 points score included three race wins and setting the fastest time of the season at Gin Pit, 42.60 seconds, in heat 15. Pawel Idziorek top scored for the visitors, losing only to John White in heat 17. Twelve of the races were shared heats, but Sheffield knew when to strike, winning the other six races.
