AGM changes saw Bill Phillips and Martin Phillips replace Mike Hack as
Chairman and Team Manager respectively. Lee Phillips re-joined the club
after his spell at Bury.
The team put in two tremendous showings to reach the Semi-Finals of the
British Indoor Team Championships, for 1997/8 in March at Lowestoft and for
1998/9 in December at Salford.
The 1st team finished 7th out of 9 teams in the British League North Fours
League and 2nd out of 3 teams in the Manchester League Division 1, which was
re-formatted to the current Grand Prix style for the first time. At junior
level, A&T finished 4th out of 13 teams in the British Junior League, 4th
out of 9 teams in the British League North Junior League, 1st out of 5 teams
in the Manchester League Division 2 and won the British League North Junior
