Blackpool Charity Cycle Ride
Several club members have expressed an interest in participating
in this year's annual Manchester to Blackpool charity cycle ride
on Sunday 14th July. So far, Steve Waterworth, Reece Pollitt,
Mike Hack and Pati Artymiuk are taking part. If anyone else
wishes to participate, please let Mike Hack know, so we can get
a strong Astley & Tyldesley club representation. We don't have
any cycle speedway matches fixtured for that day.

A&T - Grade 'A'
International status facility
Interesting statistics released by British Cycling show that
only six cycle speedway clubs have higher membership levels than
Astley & Tyldesley. We have 45 members registered with British
Cycling, which puts us 2nd in the list of Northern clubs.
Sheffield have easily the highest membership levels in the sport
at 145.
British Cycling have released their official track facility
gradings for 2013. We have retained the top rating of a Grade
'A' International status facility, one of only six venues in the
sport. We are the only venue in the North to have the top
rating.
These two ratings, along with our 9th placed finish in the 2012
British Club Championships, again the 2nd highest placed
Northern club, shows that the Astley & Tyldesley club, as a
whole, are one of the leading cycle speedway clubs in the UK.
There are currently 35 clubs in the UK, so (using performance
speak) we are in the top quartile in each of those three major
categories.
