The aim is to raise funds for the World Championships staging, and also to hold a pre-season social. Pre-Season Training The sessions will begin on Sunday 16th February, between 2 pm and 4 pm, followed by Tuesday 18th February, between 7 pm and 9 pm. Sessions will then take place every Sunday and Tuesday until the start of the season, and then every Tuesday throughout the season. At the Tuesday night sessions, juniors will train between 7 and 8 pm, followed by the seniors training between 8 and 9 pm. Development News The new club bikes have now arrived and the new cabin is in place, courtesy of National Lottery funding. We have also secured funding to the tune of £1303 from the Wigan Council Community Chest, towards equipment purchases, and £1150 from the Association of Gt. Manchester Local Authorities (AGMA), towards the cost of promoting the World Championships. Club Bikes Some have been sold, some are still outstanding. If you wish to purchase one, for the low price of £30, please contact Mike Hack without delay, before they are sold off to people from other clubs. Race Results In this years British Indoor Individual Championships. Becky Heslop qualified for the U-13 final, whilst Damien Hack did likewise in the U-19 event. Membership Renewals All members are reminded that their Miners Welfare Club membership renewals are now due. Renewal slips are available at the bar . Poland Trip Any members interested in going on a trip to Poland next July are asked to express their interest to Mike Hack asap. It is envisaged that the trip will be around 10 days to a fortnight (including travelling time). We are looking at travelling either by coach or by mini-bus, depending on numbers, and staying at hotels. The trip will include the World Junior Championships at Czestochowa. If we can get enough riders to travel, we shall be looking at racing challenge matches at Torun and Czestochowa. World Championships The date is looming ever closer, when we stage the World Championships. Just seven months to go. Another reminder that the dates are: Friday 1st August - Senior Individual Qualifiers, at A & T and Bury; Saturday 2nd August - Senior Team Championships, at A & T; Sunday 3rd August - Senior Individual SFs and Final, at Bury. We really will need everybodys help, both beforehand and during the weekend, so please make every effort to support our biggest event to date.
