Poles go out in style

(2002 Web-site Archive)

Astley & Tyldesley's two Polish stars ended their brief spell with the club in style with excellent performances in the Manchester League Grand Prix round at Stockport. Przemek Binkowski signed off by riding to a superb 16 points maximum score, inflicting the only defeat on England International Terry Norman, of Tameside. A & T's other Pole Tomasz Wlodarczyk won his opening two races and finished with a score of 13 points, to finish joint 3rd on the night with Bury's Ben Scranage and Neil Howarth.

Both Binkowski and Wlodarczyk have declared their intention to return to Astley & Tyldesley for a much longer spell next season. Certainly both riders have been tremendous acquisitions for the club - both on and off the track - and this news is a great filip for the club's 2003 plans.
