It was good to see Gareth Paine spectating at the A&T Go-Ride Grand Prix, albeit on crutches, following an operation to mend a broken leg sustained playing rugby last Saturday.

The injury has ruled Painey out of playing for the England Lions Rugby League team in Canada in August, as well as from riding cycle speedway for the foreseeable future.
