Sun 29th June Northern Fours & Junior League
Round 5
Tameside

Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Cycle Speedway team traveled to Stockport for the 5th Round of the Northern Fours and Junior League series.

Astonishingly the home Stockport team failed to put in an appearance, although there were sufficient officials present to run the full race meeting. In the opening match this left Astley & Tyldesley to do battle with Hull, with both teams recording default wins in their races against Stockport. Three of the four races were drawn 5-5, with a 6-4 heat win to the Binkowski / Hack pairing over Schofield / Goff proving decisive in ensuring that A & T won by two points.
