Astley & Tyldesley pulled off a last ditch victory in
their Northern Fours League match at Bury on Sunday. The Gin Pit based outfit
looked to have lost out after a series of errors throughout the match, but came
good in the last four races to overhaul home team Bury and keep out a strong
challenge from Sheffield. Tomasz Wlodarczyk once again raced unbeaten for A
& T, in his final match of the season before returning to Poland, with solid
work from Frank Finnigan, Chris Finnigan and Warren Mee. Both Simon Gamble and
Martin Gamble were impressive for Sheffield, whilst Bury were well served by
Paul Dyson and Neil Howarth, with a gate exclusion to Ben Scranage proving
costly.
