Astley & Tyldesley's Junior team had a great win over
Hull on Tuesday evening, in the Northern Junior Cup Semi-Final tie at Gin Pit. A
& T took the lead in heat 3 and pulled away for a convincing and deserved
82-63 win to qualify for the final at Bury on Sunday, when they will meet the
winners of the Bury v Sheffield semi-final. Joe Twiss made a great debut for A
& T, winning three of his five races and losing only to Hull's Chris Cooke,
who raced unbeaten on the night. There were also great performances by captain
Warren Mee, Daniel Fearnehough (who won two races on his cycle speedway match
debut), Daniel Swales (who recorded his personal best time) and returnee
Rob Longworth.
