Astley & Tyldesley staged their final home match of the season, when they entertained Midlands giants, Wednesfield Aces, at Gin Pit on Sunday. The visitors took control from the start, and ran out big winners, 111-63. There was no shortage of entertainment when A & T's Chris Finnigan was in action, and he pulled off some great passes, combining well with his partners, as well as suffering two falls. However, a win for a much stronger Wednesfield team keeps them near the top of the league table. Chris Jewkes and Mick Pedley both raced unbeaten, with Mick Aris, Lee Aris and Paul Bird all suffering gate exclusions. The Combination match was a much closer affair, but once again the visitors ran out winners, 65-55. Best for A & T were the more experienced Ewan Tulloch and Warren Mee, both dropping just 1 point each from their three rides, whilst newcomer Joe Allen gets better every match, and he pulled off some good passes. For Wednesfield, Craig Guest was unbeaten in two rides, whilst newcomer Tom Haddock dropped only point, with good support from Ian Warren and Dale Peace.
