Sun 19th June Northern Fours & Junior League Rd. 3 Heckmondwike

Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Cycle Speedway travelled to Heckmondwike as league leaders for a round of the Northern Fours and Junior League series. The stifling heat made conditions unpleasant for all competitors, as a well below strength A & T struggled to keep in contention. Two exclusions to Remi Burchardt were not in A & T's script, and although he won his other two races, they were A & T's only race wins. However, the Gin Pit outfit fought back from 4th place after the first series of races, to overhaul Pedalsport and Heckmondwike, to take 2nd place. Bury won by a convincing margin and had Ben Scranage racing unbeaten. This result keeps A & T at the top of the table.
