Astley & Tyldesley lined up for a Northern League match at Edinburgh on Sunday, hopeful of completing a double over the Falcons. However, the non appearance of Remi Burchardt, to add to the club's other riders who had declared themselves unavailable for a whole plethora of reasons, meant that A & T were handicapped before the start, riding a man short.

Consequently, Edinburgh were never in danger of losing the match, despite a 20 points maximum score from Darek Kurkowski and 18 from Tomasz Wlodarczyk, who lost only to Alan Smith in heat 10. Edinburgh had enough strength throughout the team to easily see off A & T's other riders to win comfortably, 86-59, in a very sporting match.
