Sat 19th May | Astley & Tyldesley v Poole | Astley & Tyldesley | |
Astley & Tyldesley staged a double bill of Premier League racing at Gin Pit over the weekend. First up on Saturday were Poole, who made the long trip from Dorset. Three heavy showers before the match left the track flooded, but the track soon cleared and plenty of hard fought racing took place, on a heavy surface. Led by current World Champion, Australian Daniel Pudney, Poole were much too strong in depth for A & T and they inflicted A & T's biggest defeat since moving up to the Premier League, winning 105-71. Pudney lost only to A & T's best rider, Remi Burchardt (pictured), in heat 6. All three of A & T's Poles suffered exclusions, and with too long a tail following three late withdrawals, a big defeat was inevitable.
