Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 2 of the A & T Go-Ride Grand Prix series
at Gin Pit on Sunday afternoon. On a cold, wet and blustery afternoon,
the track was in great condition, with some close finishes arising from
the handicapping system used. Adam Turnbull just withheld a strong
challenge from Adam Phillips to win heat 2. Reece Pollitt overhauled
Turnbull on the last lap to win heat 9. Pollitt needed to win heat 12 to
seal the win overall, but Adam Phillips took full advantage of the gap
left as Pollitt passed Max Evans, to take the race win and ensure a 3
rider run-off, after all had finished with 15 points, from four races
each. In the run-off, Reece Pollitt passed Adam Turnbull on the last lap
to take the win, with Turnbull holding off Adam Phillips on the run to
the chequered flag to finish 2nd.
