Sun 11th August Northern Junior League and Northern Fours League Round 4 Stockport

The Astley & Tyldesley / CWTS Ltd cycle speedway team were in action at Stockport on Sunday. "Team Green" lined up in Round 4 of the Northern Fours League and put in a great display to take 2nd place out of the 6 teams racing on the day. Danny Hughes won three of his five races, taking a second place and a fall in his other races, to jointly top score for A&T with 16 points out of a possible 20. He was joined by Reece Pollitt, who once again underlined his great potential, with a good display, taking a win and four second places. Paul Graham won his opening two races, followed by two second places, before giving up his last ride in favour of Roy Heslop. Mark Graham scored four valuable third places, as well as picking up an exclusion for crossing the inside edge. Stockport ran out convincing winners, to maintain their 100% record in this league, but A&T have now moved up to third place in the table.

A&T's four veterans piled up the points in the Combination category, to ensure that A&T finished 2nd on the day and maintain a realistic chance of winning the Northern Junior League, in first place with two rounds remaining.
