Northern Fours & Junior League Round 1. At Bury. On a wet day, A&T made the short trip to Bury. There was controversy before the start of the Fours League match, when the Northern League Chairman and Bury Club President, Tony Mann, unilaterally overruled the approval given by the Northern League Committee during the winter for Mark Mulvey to race for A&T on loan in Fours League matches. Consequently, A&T had to draft in 12 year old Max Evans, whilst Mark had to sit out and watch the match. Reece Pollitt top scored for A&T, with a battling performance from Max Evans and support from Mark Graham and Ciaran Collins. Northern Fours League result: Bury Comets 70 Stockport 69 Heckmondwike 44 Bury Meteors 40 Astley & Tyldesley 40 Hull 35. A&T scorers: Reece Pollitt 14, Max Evans 12, Mark Graham 8, Ciaran Collins 6. In the Junior League, A&T's youngsters once again excelled, with Ben Dickinson, John White and Emily Burgess leading the way in the u-10s match, with an unbeaten 16, 15 and 14 points respectively. Charlie Burgess scored a battling 8 points. Max Evans raced unbeaten in the u-13s match, with Matt Snell second top scorer with 13 points. In the u-16s event, Reece Pollitt top scored with 15 points, supported by Ciaran Collins with 6. |
