A&T faced a strong Edinburgh side for the Division 1 match at Redbraes Park. Tomasz Wlodarczyk took an uncharacteristic fall, whilst leading heat 2, on a slippery track, but recovered well, to win all his remaining four races and top the scores for A&T. Paul Graham made a welcome return to the team after being sidelined for a weeks with a knee injury and he dug in for a good score. Led by the unbeaten Mikey Hewitson, Edinburgh were solid scoring throughout and rode to a 111-67 victory. Northern League Division 1 match result: Edinburgh 111 Astley & Tyldesley 67 Edinburgh: Mikey Hewitson 20, Marcin Czarkowski 17 (1), Neil Swanson 15 (4), Neil McPherson 14 (2), Kamil Greszla 14 (2), Craig Newsome 13 (2), Douglas Morgan 9 (2), Ewan Kennedy 9 (1). A&T scorers: Tomasz Wlodarczyk 18, Paul Graham 13 (1), Ciaran Collins 10 (1), Gareth Paine 9, Max Evans 6, Matt Snell 6, Chris Snell 5. Referee - Ewan Tulloch. Edinburgh took the Division 2 match, as they kept up their title challenge in this division. A&T conceded 20 penalty points for using an ineligible rider, Tomasz Wlodarczyk, as they went down to a 98-71 defeat. He raced to a 20 points maximum score, whilst Max Evans and Gareth Paine teamed up to take maximum points in a highly eventful heat 14, which provided the crowd with the best entertainment of the day. Ciaran Collins was in the thick of the action, whilst Chris Snell again deserves credit in standing in for the absentees. For Edinburgh, Ewan Kennedy lost first time out to Wlodarczyk. Northern League Division 2 match result: Edinburgh 98 Astley & Tyldesley 71 Edinburgh: Ewan Kennedy 19, Gavin Kennedy 16 (1), Ewan Tulloch 11, Douglas Morgan 9 (2), Marcin Czarkowski 9 (1), Sean Hewitson 6 (1), Skye Mitchell 5, Neil Swanson 3 (1). A&T: Tomasz Wlodarczyk 20, Gareth Paine 13 (2), Max Evans 11, Ciaran Collins 11, Chris Snell 9 (2), Matt Snell 7 (1). Referee - Mikey Hewitson. The final match of the weekend saw A&T fielding two riders against Edinburgh's three, in the Division 3 match. The scores were level going into the last race. A&T's Max Evans and Matt Snell sped away from the tapes, to take 1st and 2nd places and secure a 27-23 win for A&T. This was an excellent showing from the two lads, in their 14th race of the day and keeps A&T very much in contention to retain the Division 3 league title. Max Evans raced unbeaten in the match.
