Astley & Tyldesley made the short trip to Stockport for a Northern
League fixture.
A&T knew they were in for a tough afternoon, with Stockport having won
the Division 1 title for the past four seasons. However, the visitors
enjoyed little good fortune, being on the wrong end of some tough
incidents. A&T battled hard throughout, but had to wait until the final
race before taking their first race win of the day, when Luke Jamson and
George Hughes took a 7-2 heat win over Joe Pickford, after Mat Lush
picked up an exclusion. Joe Allen top scored for A&T, with Reece Pollitt
taking three second places in the match. Jack Lush, Ben Higham and Terry
Norman all raced unbeaten for the home team.

A&T enjoyed better fortune in the Division 2 match, taking their second
win of the season. Stockport conceded 20 points after fielding an
ineligible rider, Jake Read. The home team banged in four 7-3 heat wins
in the opening six races, to reduce A&T's lead to six points. A&T then
stemmed the tide, with three 6-4 heat wins, to move into a 12 points
lead after heat 11. The visitors rounded off the match with two maximum
scores, to take a 95-73 win. Reece Pollitt led the way for A&T, winning
four of his five races, with solid back-up from the rest of the team.
Former Hull rider Ryan Harrison was best for Stockport, losing only to
Mark Graham in heat 9.

A&T rounded off the day with an emphatic win in the Division 3 match,
taking their second win of the season. Max Evans and Matthew Snell both
raced unbeaten for A&T, with excellent performances from Joe Quarmby,
Emily Burgess and Ben Dickinson.
