Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 4 of the Manchester League Grand Prix series. On a warm, sunny evening, plenty of good racing took place on a well watered track and following the efforts of club members at the track work weekend. A&T's junior riders were out in force and made it three wins out of four, with some determined riding. In the u-10s match, Ben Dickinson and Joe Quarmby dropped just one point apiece, with Emily Burgess a further point behind and Charlie Burgess weighing in with 12 points and John White 11. Max Evans raced to a 16 points maximum in the u-13s match, whilst we had another double figures scorer, with Matt Snell bagging 10. The u-16s were combined with the u-19s match, so the points scored on the track were adjusted later to split the groups. Consequently, Adam Phillips and Reece Pollitt finished with 14 apiece and Ciaran Collins on 12. With so many high scorers, A&T's top five scorers on the night ensured a convincing win, to put the team in a strong position with two rounds of the series remaining. Referee - Bill Phillips (Astley & Tyldesley). A&T had their best turn out of the season in the Division 1 (seniors) match and took 2nd place behind Stockport. All four A&T riders put in a decent shift, with Adam Phillips and Reece Pollitt both winning a race each. Stockport took their fourth successive win of the series to maintain their position at the top.
