Sun 7th June Northumbria v
Astley & Tyldesley
Northumbria

Astley & Tyldesley enjoyed a hat trick of wins in Sunday's Northern League fixture at Northumbria, marking the halfway stage of the season.

A&T had never previously beaten the Vikings at Division 1 level, but that run ended as A&T took a 94-83 win to maintain their title challenge. A&T scored two heat wins to open up an early 6 points lead, but Northumbria hit back with successive heat wins of their own to reduce the deficit to 2 points after heat 6. A&T retaliated with two heat wins and held a 47-41 lead at the interval. A 7-3 heat win to the Ciaran Collins / Radek Handke pair in heat 12 put A&T 12 points up and the away team were happy to sit on that lead, to see out the remainder of the match, running out 94-83 winners. Northumbria's veteran Gavin Parr raced to a 20 points maximum score, but A&T had more strength in depth and this proved decisive. Radek Handke was best for A&T, losing only twice, both times to Parr.
